Nara, Japan｜Hiraso

Amazing local restaurant with traditional Japanese food specialized in sushi. Food was amazing although with 2 menus, restricted by lunch or diner service. Atmosphere was amazing, they offer traditional tatami seating as well as western(tables/chair) option and have a LOT of take away orders. Service was impecable, knowledgeable with limited English but very friendly. No wifi yet service is so efficient you barely have time to waste or loiter. Restroom was 2 private booths, although mixed they were amazingly clean. I would definitely recommend anyone a meal here and for sure will return if I can.

Small restaurant specializing in seasonal dishes and Nara specialties. There were four items available when I went (April 2023). There was a venison and boar curry (served with rice, pickles, salad, and a red bean and rice ball wrapped in persimmon leaf), a marinated tuna bowl (served with soup, pickles, chawanmushi, a mountain yam side dish, and the same dessert), a noodle dish, and something else I can’t quite remember. We got two of each of the curry and the tuna bowl with a persimmon juice. Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed the tuna bowl and the accompaniments. Service was very polite and prompt.

A quiet place, the sashimi is slightly preserved. The meal was delicious. Taste is Different then what I had in other parts of Japan. Service is great and price is reasonably.
