Kyoto, Japan｜Katsura (かつら)

Small place run by a single person. Noodles were excellent, but the real star was the soup and the vegetables. Very interesting tastes and combinations and the dishes are simply beautiful. Place itself is a little run down, but don't let the looks fool you, the food is amazing, and you can sit right next to a window looking at the river. Highly recommended.

This the best kaiseki meal I have in my 15 years in Japan. Some of the ingredients were new even to my Japanese wife. Bravo to the chef.

Inexpensive and delicious! We ordered the soy and Curry ramen. The overall atmosphere was very relaxing.
