More Comments at Google MapOne of the best afternoon tea experiences I've been to. We were staying in the Hyatt and decided to do the afternoon tea experience and it was such a highlight. Detailed explanation of the tea brewing process with the accompanying desserts. There's a lot of attention to details and dedication to the craft in this experience. I've done a number of afternoon teas around the world and this is one of my favorites. This is such a delightful experience and be sure to make reservations. I highly recommend the afternoon tea experience!
WOW!! My friends and I went to Touzan for their afternoon tea recently. I made a reservation and they sat us in their private seating area. We didn’t get a view of the garden, but we got an amazing afternoon tea and tasting experience. We were guests of the hotel, so I wouldn’t have know abt this unless we were staying. I highly recommend making a visit, it is a peaceful respite from the busy streets of Kyoto. It is not the cheapest, but for all the food, different teas, and amazing service, it’s worth it. Gen Yamada (I can’t remember his name) was so knowledgeable and friendly. We agreed it was the best afternoon tea experience, and I’ve been to fancy ones like the Peninsula HK. The food was amazing but my favorite part was trying all the Ippodo teas. I learned so much! The food was intricate and delicious. I’ve never had hojicha scones! The strawberries came out w liquid nitrogen. It was so beautiful and delicious.
Visited on a Sunday at 1.30pm. Atmosphere was scenic with the view of the garden as you dine. I ordered the lunch menu and was pleasantly surprised by the delicate flavours and texture of the food. The rice course looked seemingly simple, but the flavours were great! Not to mention the great service of the staff who took time to explain what each dish was, and the ingredients in it. Lunch menu was also at an affordable price, in my opinion. Nice place to spend a afternoon away from the crowd.
