Nara, Japan｜Sushi Izakaya Taraku

Walked into this izakaya based on reviews and, I’m not going to lie, it was difficult to communicate not knowing any conversational Japanese. The restaurant was visited by locals who all talked to each other from table to table and watched TV together. There aren’t any English menus, all the menus are handwritten so Google Translate had some difficulty translating, and no one spoke English. I ended up ordering whatever Google translated that I recognized and it was all delicious. The owners were very welcoming and nice and we had a good laugh (the other patrons did too) at the very end where I counted my coins to pay and was missing just 10 yen 😅 - it was a moment where we didn’t understand each other but we all understood the situation. Wishing this izakaya all the success! 😉

Great izakaya option if you are staying JW Marriott hotel.

As per previous reviews Fish, sashimi, etc. It was delicious. Also I want to go There are a lot of regular customers, so it feels like you're away from home.
