We were looking for small unique restaurants when visiting Kyoto and stumbled across Ai. Ai ended up being an amazing choice for dinner! The price is too low for the quality and quantity of food provided. I hadn't thought of a "one-coin" meal before eating here and would happily have paid double. I would highly recommend eating here and can't imagine why the prices are so low!

A neighborhood eatery run by a welcoming duo. Prices were cheap, set meals were tasty, and the menu was full of items that we wanted to try. Highly recommended.

My friends and I stumbled upon this gem by accident, and I can honestly say it was the most delightful dining experience we have had! The owners were very friendly and welcoming. As they saw us struggle with a menu, they kindly offered us pictures of the food to help us order. We ordered a variety of items, and they all were delicious! Cooked right in front of us, you can tell the food was fresh and made with love. I would highly recommend this place to any tourists in the Kyoto area! You won't be disappointed.
