More Comments at Google MapThis was my one of my favorite places to eat in Kyoto, it's so close to the station and the food was great. I went there twice and had the simmered chicken and seared bonito and both didn't disappoint. I am an American tourist and I was looking forward to trying raw egg as they are not safe to eat in America. You can add raw egg and several other toppings to most dishes. They had an English menu as well.
Very cheap and near the station, so it's pretty busy most of the time. I went past 10 and it was still crowded, but I still managed to find a seat immediately, especially since I'm a solo diner. Food was good for the price, not something that I'd recommend to friends, but perfect if you need a quick meal and you're sick of konbini take out. If it helps, you order and pay through the machine (English option available) where you can also use your IC card, take your receipt (2 pieces of paper), take a seat, and wait for your number to be called at the counter. I recommend translating what your queue number is in Japanese since I don't think they called mine in English. After eating you place your tray at the racks on the side.
I love this place!! Begin by ordering off of the kiosk where there is an English translation option, then grab your ticket, and wait for your food at any seat. It’s a pretty small restaurant, but I went multiple times during my 3 day stay in Kyoto and was always able to find a seat. The udon is soooo yummy and there’s a lot of options you can add-on! It’s also very affordable. I honestly can’t wait to go back 🩷
