More Comments at Google MapLoved this place! A little difficult to find, but once you do you won’t regret it. It’s a rather tiny eating area, with sitting on the floor traditional style. Food is Japanese cuisine and very tasty. I would make this my weekly go-to if I lived in Kyoto.
Amazing food and friendly staff. The specialty is the Okonomiyakis. They were delicious and filling, best ones I've tried...definitely recommend. It is very small just 6 tables so worth to go as soon as they open. It is a traditional restaurant where you have to take your shoes off to enter
Had to wait more than an hour to get in - that explains what a wonderful restaurant this must be! Our meal was delicious, and we spoke to several of the other guests, and it was the same reaction we got accustomed to hearing. Their reputation is earned - killer food, delicious and mouth watering food and efficiency at its best. It’s not a large restaurant, they have a “communal” table that probably seats 10 and three other table that seats four each at best. By table, I mean a table that has a built in grill. The waitstaff slide the meal on to the grill that keeps it piping hot throughout the meal. It’s kinda like hibachi, but not quite the same (as Dave Skylark would say, “same same, but still different!” Finally, don’t expect an ostentatious place, this place is not decked out like some fancy restaurants, but it has LOADS of character. They close st 10:00, so make sure you get there by 7:30 or thereabouts to have a fighting chance of dining that night :-)
