Kyoto, Japan｜Tonkatsu Buta-Gorilla - Shinkyogoku Rokkaku

Best Tonkatsu I ever had! There might be some queue but it's definitely worth it. The resto sometime looks empty even with the queue outside but this is their way to maintain their high quality service (their staff can only service x number of customer so the rest will have to wait on the queue). We tried both sirloin and tenderloin. Sirloin is the best in my opinion, you still get that little bit of fat in there that is just absolutely delicious.

The upstairs seating was really nice, quiet and authentic. The Japanese basil flavoured mince pork cutlet was delicious!

Awesome Tonkatsu! Everything about the food is so nice and piping hot. One of the best Tonkotsu I have eaten, the pork and prawn are so fresh and crispy! Rice, miso soup and cabbage are refillable. Value for money too! Highly recommended to go when in Kyoto!
