Very (very) small tempura restaurant that only holds seats for about 7 people. Very unassuming on the outside, definitely would not have seen this place if it was not introduced to us by a local friend. It is ran by 1 man, the chef who is a little older and does everything. You pick the drink, state any allergies, and he takes care of the rest of the menu. Unfortunately I think he only speak Japanese so we would've a hard time communicating. I'm glad our Japanese friend was able to help us. Otherwise, the food speaks for itself. He is definitely a master of his craft and I don't think I can eat tempura again without comparing to his food. I also did not know how much variation you can get with tempura. Fish, shrimp, veggies, etc. Anyway, highly recommend if you know some Japanese to try some authentic tempura!

Very good, reasonably-priced classic tempura restaurant. The only decision you have to make is what to drink. The chef decides everything else. The meal started with a chawan-mushi and then about 15 pieces of tempura with a small, fresh salad in the middle and a small bowl of fruit to finish. We had several fish here that we hadn’t had anywhere else including tilefish (amadai) and dragonfish/octagon fish (hakkaku). Vegetable courses included kabocha (pumpkin), asparagus, and lotus. The final tempura course was ten-don (tempura on rice) and it was fantastic. All the items were very fresh. We were the only guests on a Thursday night from 6-8 PM so it was like having a private chef! (Only 5 seats so recommend making reservations.).
