Kyoto, Japan｜Tempura Arima

The sashimi was excellent- fresh tuna served with delicate, edible flowers, generous amount of wasabi and soy. The tempura- wow!!! I could order tray after tray. My personal favourite was the asparagus, mushroom, scallop and prawn. The batter was perfect. Finally, the chef is truly one of a kind, talented, warming and friendly. We sat on the counter and whilst cooking our food to order he entertained us. The hostess was warming and sweet. Amazing Japanese draft asahi beer!!!! Definitely check this place out!! :)

We came early at about 5.45pm, luckily the chef was nice enough to let us in without a reservation as we saw that the place is fully booked. Sashimi was fresh and the tempura was one of the best we ever had.

Absolutely delicious food made with tremendous amounts of love. We came in fairly late but were welcomed to the counter and had a true feast of freshly prepared tempura. The owners are clearly very proud of the quality they present, and rightly so. I will be back when I am in Kyoto next.
