It was super fun experience! Although this little cute restaurant does not accept reservations (because it only has eight seats) , we still got seat for three. The atmosphere was super nice- we talked a lot with the regulars and enjoyed the food so much! The regulars help serve and bring utensils, and it was super intimate and cozy vibe. Of course the oden was delicious: we had daikon and other tofu products, and they were very savory! Prices are very much fair and affordable, would love to come again!

I came across an oden restaurant by chance while walking along the Kamogawa River. When the sliding door is opened, it feels like entering a late-night restaurant (there are only 6-7 seats). Auntie Ban Niang’s oden cuisine is delicious! As someone who can only speak Japanese, ordering went smoothly and the oden was also very authentic. I am really lucky to come to this store. Come on, Auntie Banlai! Later, after reading the reviews here, I realized that the signature tofu skin must be ordered on site! I will definitely come back next time I have a chance to go to Kyoto!

I'm tired of Kyoto being full of tourists. Wherever you go, the wait is too bad and there are too many people. As you pass through the narrow entrance here, the movie “Midnight Restaurant” unfolds. There is no separate menu, you just order the food and fish cakes placed on the table. I tried fish cake, something I had never tried before in Korea. The only beer is bottled beer. It seems like a store that only regulars go to. Since we couldn't speak any Japanese, he helped us. The woman sitting next to me said she was welcome and poured me a beer. It was a place where you could eat delicious fish cakes and mingle with locals.
