Kyoto, Japan｜Teppan-izakaya Ittetsu

Located right opposite the Mercure Kyoto Station, this was our first time trying teppanyaki in Japan. It was a fantastic experience! They cook the food and then bring to your own griddle and keep it hot at your table. Definitely recommend the Okonomiyaki, we had it with prawns. It’s a great place to share and try lots of different dishes. Really kind staff, patient while we were ordering. Definitely recommend if you’re staying in the area!

First experience with teppanyaki and it was very pleasant. They cook the foods and then bring to your own griddle, nothing comes raw to the table. I like this so the chef can set the preparation, you just keep it hot at your table. Also first time with okonomiyaki, had the veggie one. I highly recommend trying it here! Also enjoyed the Izayaka aspect of this restaurant as they had many small plates / small bites of foods to enjoy. I like this style since you can try many things and not full from one dish. Very kind staff, patient while ordering and translating to Japanese

Went to this store today with my family, the store environment is very clean and comfortable. It seems to be run by a family, and the service attitude is also very good. They even asked us if we need to change seats because the air conditioner is too strong. The taste of the food is great, I recommend 塩エビ, もやし炒め and 焼そば. The young man in the store is very fluent in English, and he can communicate in English if he doesn't know Japanese.
