It can be a little difficult to get a reservation and there are only 8 seats and two times an evening dinner courses start (5:30 & 7:30), but if you get a chance this place is very charming. Tempura is served fresh one piece at a time. Incredibly light coating and an interesting variety of ingredients. I loved it all. And the fried shrimp and vegetable fritter (kakiage) at the end of the meal was perfect. And for really high end tempura the price is very reasonable (¥4000~¥5000). Might be a little difficult if you don’t speak Japanese, but everyone working there is very friendly and welcoming.
Cosy family run tempura place where chef is the son, table service by ma & pa. We don’t speak a word of Japanese but they still tried their best to explain the food by showing us the ingredients. The tempura is lightly battered & made with very fresh ingredients. Although ingredients used not as lavish as many other tempura places, but for ¥4,000 it’s excellent value for money for those who want to have high quality tempura at a lower end price. Highly recommended!
As expected, it's a Michelin-starred restaurant, so it's difficult to make reservations. The tempura made with carefully selected ingredients is so light that you can't help but order more. You can choose between Tencha or Tendon, but if you order Kakiage as a separate serving, you can enjoy all kinds! The shop is a two-part system.
