Gyukatsu is tender and juicy, though try to cook it well. There is temptation to eat it rare or medium, but the texture actually becomes better when fully cooked. I’d go a bit early to avoid the line, as it’s quite popular among tour groups it seems.

Awesome place to have gyukatsu. There are 2 locations along the same alley, and we were lucky to be in line at the one which had a much faster turn around. Waited for approx 25 mins before we got a table. Rice is refillable once, and for hungry eaters 2 cutlets is always good. Also, each adult diner needs to order a meal (no sharing of a 2 cutlet set). Service staff was good but may forget the request you have made (forgot my rice refill).😂 Also note that as with all gyukatsu places, you would leave smelling like the food you just ate.

Best meal I had in Japan! Specifically went to this outlet for our first dinner in Osaka around 6pm and didn’t queue at all. Service was great and food was even better – try grilling it with just salt! The sauce was also really savoury. But the barley rice was the perfect cherry on top, finished it all. Some say that this chain is overrated/standard has dropped but this meal blew my mind and set such a high standard for the rest of my meals. A must go in Japan! Do come early, there was a long queue when I left at 7:30pm.
