The chef/owner is super polite and professional, we were lucky to be there 5 minutes before the restaurant open and could get in the last 3 seats of the first batch. Curry sauce is so rich of flavor and nice aroma of the beef stew, however it’s a little too spicy for my husband and daughter but they manage it.

Unassuming spot for fantastic Japanese curry. Hakugintei is nestled in a business district and clearly caters for the folks around it. This place only has counter seating and limited spots so prepare to wait if you come in at peak lunch, but man it was worth it. Small menu built around their absolutely stellar curry. Get the bells and whistles if you like, but we got the basic katsu and curry rice. Load up on some carrot + onion pickle and have a hearty, delicious meal.

Love the traditional curry rice frequent by locals. English menu available. Amazing curry rest. I felt that this was the best I had so far, better than those in shopping malls. The curry is light and smooth, with a hint of tangy spiciness. The tonkatsu is delicious, crispy even with the curry sauce and not too much bread powder. Perfect!
