Himeji, Hyogo, Japan｜手打うどん かわ泉

After tasting the udon at this restaurant, my son said udon is his favorite noodle! This small friendly neighborhood restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere. It is not near any tourist attraction. We stumbled upon it on the day of the Himeji Marathon as public transportation was interrupted and we were forced to walk back from Mt Shosha back to Himeji Station. What a serendipitous find! A must for a return visit.

It is a very delicious treat and the staff was very friendly and helped me alot. I was very happy to eat such good food.

This was my first visit with my kids using a map. It has a somewhat nostalgic feel to it, with the image of an old restaurant rather than a modern, beautiful restaurant. There were two tatami seats, a table seat, and a counter seat. I'm a very picky eater, but this udon was so delicious that I snacked on almost one serving. Also, for a bowl + udon set, is it better to have more of the bowl or the udon? Even though it was a set that you could choose from, it was very cheap. I want to use it again. thank you very much.
