More Comments at Google MapVisited after 12:30 on weekdays. The store is crowded, but it's not full. Inside the store, it seems that more than 10 people can be accommodated if it is packed only at the counter in a standing eating soba style. After purchasing a meal ticket at a ticket vending machine that accepts transportation electronic money, bring it to the counter. This time I ordered tempura soba. It was a little cheaper at 380 yen due to a campaign or something. Tempura is fluent, but it is a little sticky and unique. The soup stock is effective and it is delicious normally. The most distinctive feature of this restaurant is the noodles. Rather than ordinary soba noodles, it is rather thin Inaniwa udon, and it has a texture similar to Chinese noodles. Unique. It was delicious as usual, and it might be good to talk about Himeji's soul food. It's convenient because you can easily eat it on the station platform.
Visited September 2023 This is one of the three stores located inside JR Himeji Station. The shops on the conventional train platforms are standing only, and the shops in front of the Shinkansen ticket gates also have table seating. The appeal of this restaurant is that it's located inside the ticket gate, so you can easily eat it without having to get off the train! Himeji's soul food ``Maneki no Ekisoba'', which was introduced in ``The Secret Kenmin Show'', has been on sale since 1949 after the war, and the unique noodles and Japanese-style soup stock are a perfect match! "Tempura Soba" is the standard, but since I eat it every time, this time I had "Chikuwa Isobe Ten Soba" (490 yen including tax)! The batter is probably the same as tempura, so this is also recommended (^^) There is one ticket vending machine inside and one outside the store, and cash only is accepted outside the store, while transportation IC cards are accepted inside the store.
I came from the Kanto region with an empty stomach to visit platform 5 and 6 of the Sanyo Line Nobori, a nationally famous station noodle shop. I had the signature Tempura Ekisoba (450 yen tax included) in one delicious meal. Although there are no seats, the interior is beautiful. If I have a chance, I would like to come back and try other menu items. (2023.10)
