More Comments at Google MapThis place is on Platform 3 inside the train station. Yes, it is ON THE PLATFORM not outside or within the station. The best and cheapest Soba noodles I've had during my stay in Japan for 8 days. The broth is fresh and the noodles are slightly chewy. You order thru a machine which punches out your order receipt once you have inserted your money. Pass the order chit at the counter. This place is standing room only. No chairs. Again, it is inside the train station on the platform where you wait for the train.
Maneki no Ekisoba, Tempura Ekisoba 420 yen. To be honest, I was surprised that the tempura was so thin. The first bite of Chinese noodles in Japanese-style soup is uncomfortable. However, as you continue to eat, the taste will become familiar in your mouth, and in the second half, it will be delicious. As a total, it is well balanced and quite a gem. A cup that you would like to eat one train later at Himeji Station.
I visited during the daytime on a hot weekday in July. It was my first time standing and eating, but it was relatively empty, so I decided to enter. It was hot, so I had cold soba with umeboshi! The crispy cold Ekisoba is easy to eat, and the soup stock is delicious. Since you eat while standing facing the wall, it's not awkward even for beginners, and it's just the right amount of food to fill your stomach. There are plenty of purely delicious soba noodles, but the location and situation make the taste even better♥
