Asago, Hyogo, Japan｜Momiji

Really, really good burgers, cheerful atmosphere. USA style burger restaurant near some nice motorcycling roads in rural Hyogo. The burger beef mince is top quality Wagyu served on home baked burger buns, home made salami, fresh greens. The owner does not add mayo or ketchup or other condiments, saying the flavours of the high quality basic ingredients don’t need any “extras!” I agree - the burger I had with salami and cheese was really delicious 😉👍 plus, it was not the normal sloppy, drippy affair you get in other burger restaurants. Portion size was generous without being too big. Burgers are normally served with soup and salad. You can switch that for a side of fries if you prefer. It gets busy here on weekends, popular menu items may sell out later in the day. Owner is happy to take telephone reservations but he is a one-man show and popular on weeso don’t expect to call at short notice, he may be too busy to answer you! Fun atmosphere, clean and bright American diner style with genuine US radio playing nicely in the background. Owner is also keen to practice his English if you appear foreign 😉👍 Motorcycles and motorcyclists welcome 🏍️

Well, another weekend and another local Hyogo prefecture Café. Today I visited Momiji Hamburg Café. My review as always is based on service, hygienic conditions, price and location. Momiji is about 80 kms from Sanda city, but I drove the country side road to enjoy a relaxing Sunday drive. This café is very good, with a half Japanese and half USA theme. As you can see in the photos. The location is far, but, new lovers, or some motorcycle friends or a married couple who would like to get out of the house and spend some quality time together on a weekend, I would recommend Momiji café. The price for the food is reasonable compared to big city cafes. The burger itself comes with NO Mayonnaise or other sources, I would call it a NATURAL FLAVOUR. And Delicious. Inside the café is CLEAN... Very important.... The owner cooks FRESH hamburgers, NOT pre cooked or frozen. There is a drink menu also. Parking is available and a outside area with table, maybe for summer. It is not a large area café. Has about 8 tables inside with waiting area. I will return to Momiji this year but by cycling not by car. I totally enjoyed the café and the good music. I gave a 5 star because Momiji succeeded in meeting all my review points.

Amazing burger made with local ingredients. Two different styles, ground meat and a steak burger style (my favorite). If you're in Asago, or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in.
