Himeji, Hyogo, Japan｜串カツ 一品 ころも

After a long day of visiting Himeji Castle, we found this great little kushikatsu place that served some really tasty deep fried vegetable, meat and seafood skewers. There was also a cute little English menu with the chef’s self portrait on it. The skewers were excellent as batter was light but had a really great crunch and crispness to it. We also ordered the spicy green onion salad as starter; the blend of flavours - sweet, sour and spicy was excellent and refreshing. Seemed like it was also a popular place for locals to come to after work as there were a number of business men and women enjoying bevies and snacks.

It's said to be pretty fast, but I think it's for those who can relax while waiting because it's a one-off operation. The atmosphere inside the shop is also good. it's the best! If there is Mukago kushikatsu, I like it 120%. There are only a few counter and table seats, so it is not suitable for a large number of people, but the store and the owner have a calm atmosphere. All the dishes are delicious. I want to go again.
