Kyoto, Japan｜Tsunagu Shokudo

Walked by this place in the evenings many times before I gathered the courage to enter. And so glad I did! The food and nihon-shu are incredible. Mochi-san (the chef) loves to experiment with Japanese and European cuisine, so you'll find lots of eclectic food on the menu. My favorite dish is the roast pork, but I must have been so eager to dig in that I forgot to take a photos. [very little English spoken, and the menu is handwritten so Google Translate doesn't work well. You might get lucky asking for help (I did!), or just order the "roast buta"]

My husband brought me here cos he came a few days ago, and he loved the food very much. The food are valued for money, the photos were starters of the main course we ordered. Both courses were 1100yen each. The quality and quantity definitely would have cost more back in Singapore. Lady and male owners are super nice and friendly. Ambience of the restaurant is cosy and comfortable. Will come here again if I ever visit Kyoto in future.

Small but well maintained restaurant serving eclectic food. I had one of the lunch time specials (Portuguese tripes and beans stew dish) which was really well made and had a great time here 🥰
