For lunch, there are several restaurants at Mt. Hiei Kaikan, but we chose Buddhist vegetarian cuisine at Boko on the second floor! When it comes to lunch, I usually go in without doing any research, but this restaurant was pretty good! As the name suggests, you can see Lake Biwa from inside the restaurant. Since I came to Mt. Hiei, I wanted to try Buddhist vegetarian cuisine😉 It seems to be only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, so I chose Kaba Yakiju. Tofu, Yamato sweet potato, and grated burdock were deep-fried, then grilled, and the skin turned out to be seaweed! If you also sprinkled some Japanese pepper on top, it turned into Kabayaki! Delicious ~ fluffy Kabayaki!! It was so delicious!! It’s healthy and I thought Shojin Ryori was amazing!!
