Kameoka, Kyoto, Japan｜Sushihiko

Would recommend going after Sagano Romantic Train. About a 10 minute walk from the train station. The place opens at 11:30 AM. Staff was extremely friendly and kind, but does not speak english. To make it simple, I recommend English speakers get the 8-course meal costing 2,200 YEN per person (highlighted in first picture). Point to that with confidence and you’ll be set! This is great for those who wish to try new things/local food. My friend and I went and sat at the bar. 8-MEAL COURSE (2,200 YEN PER PERSON) iced tea 1) Hot Mushroom soup 2) Sashimi 3) Tofu 4) Bream Dish (lots of scales and bones, but absolutely delicious.) 5) Tempura (vegetables and shrimp) 6) Sushi and Nigiri 7) Miso soup 8) Coffee with cookies

We took the Sagano Romantic Train and aligned at Torroko Kameoka. There were no tourists around the town, and we stumbled upon this restaurant that was still open for late lunch. It was the most amazing meal we've ever had in Japan, and it was ¥1600 for 8 courses. The owners were extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Everything was fresh and delicious, especially the sashimi. It was the most memorable meal we've had during our trip.

It was a sumptuous lunch with surprises. After Sagano Romantic Train, we were looking for a restaurant nearby JR Station. It was our lucky day to have this lunch with high value. The staff was attentive and serve you one after one dish. I have 5 year old kid and they are showering is with their kind hearts. Strongly recommended to all tourists.
