Kyoto, Japan｜Ibushigin Kazuya

I’m passionate about Japanese food and have eaten at many good restaurants and izakayas in Japan (Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kyoto, etc) over the past couple months and think their sake and food selection is fantastic, service is top notch, vibe is very cool and modern, and overall it’s one of the best specialty places especially for smoked foods and sake selection. I think this restaurant deserves a lot more notoriety and highly recommend it!

Although I am not an avid sake drinker back home this made me realize I’ve never had good sake until now! The sake went down so smoothly and tasted great. The smoked roe and edamame was DELICIOUS! I usually don’t even like salmon roe that much but this was something else. I always enjoy places that challenge what I think I dislike. The vibe was very quiet and relaxed during the weekday. Great for a close and personal dinner with someone.

Fantastic experience - had both foreigners and locals. We were able to sit and talk at the bar for a long time comfortably. Sashimi was the best I tasted in japan. Each cut was delicious and we got a lot for the price. Sake flight was fun as well.
