Kyoto, Japan｜Sushinari

This place should have way higher rating. It’s not about fancy design, or pretentious atmosphere, so some of you might be disappointed. This place is all about great Japanese food - freshness and taste you can’t beat. I came here every evening while in Kyoto and the quality has always been spot on! Try the special donburi it’s a true luxury!

Food was AMAZING! The owner was incredibly friendly, funny, engaging, and very welcoming. We've gone to quite a few restaurants in Japan but this was the friendliest one! The sushi was fresh and delicious and we were given miso soup which was delightful. 10/10 would recommend!!

For a small place servicing locals it was really good food prepared by the sole proprietor. Sushi was excellent, we had iced water to help after the ferociously hot/humid day, and complimentary soups. We ate all of our lunch meals and while a bit pricy when compared to generic chain stores, we were so happy to support local, excellent service and after we left, we faced a downpour, so we were offered the loan of an umbrella. Such good service.
