I went for the raw shirasu bowl. On the way, I looked at the restaurant's Instagram and found out that today's service lunch was a raw shirasu bowl! A regular raw shirasu bowl costs 1,300 yen, but the service lunch comes with udon and coffee for just 700 yen. However, there are only 9 meals available from 12:00, so I was waiting in front of the store from before 12:00 lol. Apparently it sold out quickly. The important thing is that despite the low price, the amount of raw shirasu was plentiful, and the udon noodles were delicious as well, so I was very satisfied! I was very lucky because the contents of the service lunch change daily.
We had lunch at Restaurant Shiosai, which is located in the back of Southern Pia, a direct sales store for locally grown vegetables and fruits, along Route 63 in Sennan City, Osaka Prefecture. When you look at the building from the outside, you can see "Southern Pia" in the front, and it's located at the back (sea side) of the space where vegetables and fruits are lined up, so you might easily miss it, but in this area, "Conger eel" is a staple. This is a good restaurant where you can get seafood rice bowls such as ``tempura'' and ``raw whitebait'' relatively easily. I was actually planning on having conger eel tempura this time as well, but since I visited on a Friday, I had the ``service lunch'' (700 yen including tax), which was only available on weekdays and had limited quantities. The contents change daily, ・Egg bowl with plenty of whitebait ・Small udon ·small bowl ·fruits And at this price, it comes with coffee after the meal, so it's definitely a good deal. At this restaurant, you buy your meal ticket from the automatic ticket vending machine at the entrance. If you hand over your meal ticket at the kitchen counter, they will give you back your ticket stub, so you can make a cup of tea or cold water right next to it, move to an empty seat, and wait for a while. When your meal is complete, your ticket number will be called, and you will have to go back to the kitchen counter to receive your meal. The whitebait egg tojidon was like an egg bowl with a slight whitebait flavor, and the amount of rice was quite large, so I was satisfied. The small udon noodles had plenty of wakame seaweed and green onions, and the soup stock was a little salty, but the taste was good. The small bowl was a stew of hijiki and beans, which went well with the egg tojidon. The fruit was a grapefruit cut into small pieces, which was a good palate cleanser. After the meal, if you take your meal ticket stub to the kitchen counter, you will be given a glass with ice and gum syrup and fresh milk of your choice, so set the glass in the coffee maker on the right side and press the button. Press and wait for coffee to brew. Although it is self-serve, you can safely drink non-instant coffee because you operate it yourself. If you sit at the counter seat facing the ocean, you can enjoy your coffee while looking out at Kansai International Airport, the connecting bridge, and the occasional plane taking off.
