Osaka, Japan｜Orange

A surprise find near our hotel. I saw the good reviews while searching for a place to have dinner nearby, and was very lucky they accepted us! At first, they said they were full for the night, as we were a large table (7 people), but they made space for us before their late night reservation, since we said we just needed dinner. They apologized that food might take a while for the entire table, but we were fine with that since they warned us in advance. The food is pricey and portions are smaller, but it is well worth the price point. Every dish was well balanced, well presented, and on point with flavours and quality of ingredients. Style is very reminiscent of French cuisine, but with a Japanese twist. Drinks were okay from what I could tell, though I just had a very tasty oolong tea. Service was excellent. They were very accommodating with towels for our hands and blankets for people by the door. One of the hosts spoke excellent English and we were happy to converse with her both in English and broken Japanese. A wonderful experience and a surprise hit with the entire group. Every single dish ordered was a hit. I'd highly recommend.

Astonishing flavours of food! Service was friendly and even though we could only speak a little bit of Japanese they were patient. At first we were turned away because of reservations, understandably being a group of 7, but as we were outside looking for other places another staff member runs out to ask if we wanted to come in for dinner. They went out of their way to put together some tables to accommodate our large group. Absolutely lovely people! They were super patient with us while we tried our best to either read or Google Translate the Japanese menu. This fantastic team of people crafted us one of our favourite meals on this trip. Good dine and wine. Food is extremely good, salad and meat dishes are all fantastic. Cava and wines are very reasonable.
