More Comments at Google MapFantastic Texan BBQ for Japan. Meats were super soft and sauces, flavourful. They have sets for 1/2/4/6 people which lets you try the 3 main meats. Really tasty, will definitely go again.
As someone who has lived in the southeast U.S., I must say the ribs were legit. The BBQ sauce was a bit runny but the taste was incredible. The ribs were seasoned to perfection. I hope to be back soon for more ribs!!! My only issue were the Cajun potatoes. They were incredibly dry but wetting them in the BBQ sauce and rib fat made them edible.
As a native Texan (who's hometown local BBQ joint ranks in the top 5 in the US), BBQ has always been special to me, to my hometown and to my state - we take pride in our BBQ. Since moving to Japan, I have had "Texas" BBQ dozens of times and, until eating at Chop Hits, nowhere has gotten it right: chewy ribs, gristly brisket, inauthentic sauces... Here the meat is tender, the beans are a lil' smoky, the potato salad is just right and the beers are cold. What more could one ask for...? Is Chop Hits the best BBQ I've ever had? No, but this is a very tall order -- it is 100% the best BBQ I've had in Japan. Are there a few things I'd change or add? Maybe... but many aspects of BBQ that are stylistic//up to individual taste and preference. What I will say is that Chop Hits deserves to be called *Texas* style BBQ, and because of this they deserve the 5 star rating I am giving them now. I will definitely go out of my way to eat here again! 🤠🏯
