Osaka, Japan｜Naniwa Omuraisu

Really nice place hidden in plain sight. We arrived at around 11:35, contrary to other people's experience here, there was no queue at all, when the place opened at 12, there was only 4 people including us. It's a really cozy small omurice restaurant with only around 10 seats. The owner of the place was nice and friendly and manages everything by himself, which is quite impressive to say the least, and the 'lack of services'(which we didn experience at all) reported by other people cold be due to this as well. The way ordering works is that you pick a rice base and portion size, then a topping(or multiple if you wish). All rice bases come with stewed wagnyu in a rich sauce, and every customer also get a free cup of soup and a salad free of charge. I had the cheese rice base and the fried food medley topping while my partner had the plain rice and the burger meat combo. The ingredients were fresh, the tangy stew combined with the egg was really enjoyable. The toppings are nice and tasty as well. The portion sizes are quite large, I could barely finish the M size(the standard portion size) so if you are an average asian dude in his 30s you could consider cut down the portion size a level, saves you money too, SS(the smallest) is recommended for ladies. Would come again if I get to visit Osaka any time soon.

I know it doesn’t say on their store hours but I’m pretty sure they have a kitchen break from 15:00 to not sure when. I was there at that time and 2 customers were turned away. Honestly, it was a one man store so I understand. The regular serving was pretty big and I wasn’t able to finish it!! It was delicious!

Self run shop but serves awesome omurice in its own style. Cozy place with great food for my last dinner in Osaka. Had tried their chicken, pork and prawns. The only time I regretted was when I ordered the SS portion😅
