From Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station, walk south along the shopping street for about 5 minutes. There is a shop behind ``Tenkaichippin'' along 171 that looks like a normal private house. The interior has a coffee shop atmosphere with jazz music. From what I saw, there were only counter seats. It's a small restaurant that is almost full when 10 people enter. Antique wall clocks fill the walls. The master is sitting opposite the counter taking orders and cooking at a fast pace. He handles everything from serving to paying and cleaning up by himself, and even then, you never feel like the food is slow to come out. Just looking at this craftsmanship is fun enough. As for the menu, there is a lineup of over 20 dishes that lives up to the name of a set meal specialty restaurant. Everything was so attractive that it was hard to choose. They also have daily set meals (you can choose between two main dishes, meat or fish), so I don't think you'll get bored even if you go every day. This time I ordered the chicken escalope set meal (920 yen/tax included). A hearty dish made with a large chicken cutlet topped with plenty of cheese and demi-glace sauce. The melted cheese mixed with the thick demi-glace sauce is so delicious! You can eat as many bowls of rice as you like. By the way, the set includes salad, small side dish, miso soup, and pickled vegetables. *I visited again and had the tuna steak set meal, which was also great with the sweet and spicy sauce! I visited around 12:00, but it was already the last seat (I'm glad I made it in time...) Until I left, the customers kept coming and going. The restaurant is open for lunch from 11:30 to 14:30, so it might be a good idea to go outside of peak hours.
