Osaka, Japan｜鉄板ます屋

We are Americans visiting japan for the first time and this place just happened to be right next to our apartment. Out of the 2 weeks we stayed in japan, the best food that we ate was from here. It's run by a sweet couple that really enjoys cooking for you and making sure you're experience is great. Loved this restaurant and will definitely come back if we visit again in the future :)

It was a random night walk looking for a place to dine near our BnB. We was drawn toward this little shop by the amazing smell of grilled food. Before entering, we were amazed by how well the interior was organized, and after we got inside, the friendliness of the lady has got us all. The lady speaks english pretty well, and the chef, he rarely speaks but was very friendly, smile was always on their faces. The food were amazing: fresh and cooked perfectly. Octopus was chewy enough for you to feel its natural texture, shrimps were so aromatic, tender, every bite was such a pleasure in my mouth. I am not a fan of the squid, or just because i'm not fond of squid in general but the scallops got me so bad. The scallops were astounding, tender, moist, juicy and perfectly seared. The price was very reasonable, I would go back there anytime. 11/10 recommended.

It's an undisputed 5 star. You can definitely get this taste at this price. Unlike other izakayas around here, the highballs and shochu are not stingy and they serve strong drinks! Personally, I'm not the type to drink strong drinks, but those who like strong drinks will be very happy! It really feels like it's from the customer's perspective.
