Osaka, Japan｜Tempura Amatsuki

Really friendly service and delicious tempura (the best we’ve ever had!). Even if you don’t speak any Japanese, they have an Instagram with photos of their food that you can point to. I’ve now saved this as a must-visit spot anytime we’re back in Osaka.

Very small tempura shop with great atmosphere. Nothing fancy but feels cozy. Single owner chef. He's friendly to foreigners. Had a few beers and some good tempura.

We stumbled in on a whim without really knowing what to expect, but I’m so glad we did. We had 12 courses of tempura on skewers served to us by the chef, and although he didn’t speak English, we managed to communicate and he was friendly and willing to interact with us. On top of that, the food was AMAZING. This is anyone’s dream while traveling - the elusive local spot with a friendly chef and food to die for.
