Amazing tempura restaurant. Probably the best we’ve ever had. Located on the 10th floor of a shopping mall. The restaurants signs are not in English, so be prepared to look/ask around for the place. My wife and I spent about ~130USD for two tempura set courses and two small bottles of sake, which is an incredible price for the quality.

The 10th floor of Shinsaibashi Daimaru, which I visited for the first time, was very comfortable. Even though I went without a reservation, the counter seats happened to be vacant, and I was lucky to get a direct front of the tempura pot with my family. For cooking, I ordered a course of 5,000 yen, and I liked about 2 items. It was nice to have a lot of fun talking with the chef and learn a lot about tempura! The shop in Gion, Kyoto is still young, having been in business for 20-30 years, but when I listened to it carefully, I heard that it was a business change of a tea shop that had been in business for hundreds of years since its predecessor. The bar next door is also managed by the same company, so I got a 20% discount ticket, so I moved with my family. I will write a review there!
