Kyoto, Japan｜Sourire Western Food Restaurant

Despite its French name, Sourire serves mostly Japanese cuisine. The menu is quite eclectic. We started with the smoked potato salad and the octopus in garlic sauce. Our main dishes were the rice-stuffed omelette ("omurice") in tomato sauce and the breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet ("tonkatsu") with radish and ponzu sauce. For dessert, we had the banana-almond semifreddo with chocolate sauce. Everything was outstanding! (For our preferences, the octopus was a touch too firm; it could have been cooked a bit longer.) The fruit juices are great as well. We were the only foreigners in the restaurant. There is no English menu, but Google Lens does a good job at translating the Japanese menu. Last order is at 9:30PM.

Beautiful little place with amazing dishes, we had the omurice, burger steak and chicken nanban and they were all incredible (chicken nanban is the star) Definitely visit if you have the time!

Very local restaurant and all are local people , no tourist. The beef rice is very juice and delicious. This shop is just 1 chef, 2 waitresses (both very beautiful ❤️), freshly cook all the dishes. You can feel the home-style Japanese food here 👏👏 Please note that it is opened 🤣 even outside with no light 🤣🤣
