Near Amanohashidate train station and all attractions in town, hilltop, sandbar, boat rides, shrine and restaurants, etc. Great coffee, scones, pastries and dessert! Good chill-out place to relax and wait for train or bus transport.

Food 5-stars. Atmosphere 5-stars. Cost 3-stars. Lovely cafe right next to Amanohashidate with fair trade, organic tea and coffee. This is an excellent place to spend some time (on a weekday - weekends and tourist season are likely to be crowded), especially if you get there early. They start serving lunch at 11:30, but have coffee, tea, and baked goods all day. There is even a shop with some great pottery, teas, and other treats. I highly recommend trying to get the circular table with the round window, as the light there is very inviting. Everything about this cafe is welcoming, and one of the staff members (maybe more?) speak English as well. I have been here quite a few times, and most recently they even had a grilled cheese/tomato soup set to banish the remains of winter. I do believe that the pricing is a little closer to "tourist pricing," but it clearly hasn't stopped me from coming here, and won't stop me from returning.
