It was a delicious experience and the service was wonderful and very friendly. The tableware is beautiful. We will go back.

I had a lunch meal when I visited Kamigamo Shrine on Friday, April 28th. Since it was before Golden Week, I didn't have a reservation, but I was seated right away. It was a great deal for 2,500 yen for sashimi, chirashi sushi, chawanmushi, and dessert in a Kyoto-style room overlooking the courtyard. The chirashi sushi was especially delicious, with small pieces of conger eel mixed into the rice. The mandarin orange jelly for dessert was also delicious.

Let's go hungry. The photo is a course of 10 dishes for 8,000 yen. I think it's interesting that the yakimochi (from the shop next door) is served first. I sometimes go to the next door to buy just the yakimochi, but if you don't go early, they'll be sold out, so I recommend going in the morning. I'm full by the time sushi comes out, so I often bring tempura and grilled fish home. You can enjoy your meal while looking at the beautiful garden.
