Kyoto, Japan｜Hiyoko Sushi

This is a hidden gem! The locals and chefs were great. The sushi was the best my family and I have ever eaten! Our 9yo loved the salmon, young yellowtail and cockle the best. We also loved the small “hole in the wall” location and atmosphere. Would eat here every week (or more often) if we lived here.

Lovely little sushi bar, with regular locals. The chefs were excellent and very friendly, and the food delicious. We were made very welcome and they spoke a little english. Don't be surprised when they charge you for the otoshi, which is of course common.

English menu and were happy to serve us. A bit pricey at 7500 yen for the 3 of us to eat, but worth it for the fresh sushi and friendly service.
