You wanna experience sma stall with the owner cook the okonomiyaki in front of you. This place is the place, comfort food, the sauce was amazing, they have lots of choice beside okonomiyaki like yakiudon/soba, garlic fried rice, and even konyaku steak. They can speak english, also have english menu

We did an overnight visit to Kyoto towards the end of our Tokyo trip, and we're so glad we found Kyochan! Tucked down a side road next to our hotel, this place is super small and quiet, and has amazing okonomiyaki. We ordered the Beta (sliced pork, soba noodles) and the Yakisoba (squid), and it tasted like a home cooked meal. Highly recommended for 2-4 people (each table sits 4 at most), there is an English menu, and the owner is superbly sweet and helpful. And definitely get the mayonnaise added!

Delicious okonomiyaki. Really sad I didn't get to go twice while in Kyoto
