Kyoto, Japan｜Sarasa Nishijin

Beautiful café in an old building that once was a traditional Japanese bathhouse (onsen). It's worth coming here just to see the interior. They have coffee drinks, juices, cakes and Japanese lunch—mostly fried or otherwise "heavy" stuff. Would be nice if there were some lighter options, like sandwiches or so. The fried chicken (karaage) was delicious, though. I also recommend the mango juice.

Great mood, lovely decor and a solid lunch. The interior is really nice and the mood is relaxed and down to earth. Ordering is done through a QR code and a website but the staff is happy to help tourists if you don’t understand. Highly recommended.
