Kyoto, Japan｜Bar Thule Doux

I am not the most travelled person in the world, but I have been to many countries in search of the best local bars I can find. And I can say with utmost certainty that Bar Thule Doux in Arashiyam is the best local bar I have ever had the luck of finding. And what makes it that great is the bartender. I have never met a bartender so devoted to making the best drinks possible! He handcrafts every ice cube and sphere by hand, and fresh presses all juice based drinks. He was extremely friendly to my girlfriend and I, who were some of the only westerners i saw there. The drinks are also very affordable! It made sad to know I spent so much more in Tokyo and even Osaka for much worse drinks. I can't say enough about how great this place was, and I was very sad when I knew I had to leave Arashiyama. So please, if you are in the area, do yourself a favour and grab a drink at Bar Thule Doux. It opens late and stays open even later, so it's a great spot to grab a drink after dinner.
