Takashi took care of us really well, he even see us off. The food was superb. The taste of traditional Japanese food. We got 1 course with 8 different dishes. 6-8 counter seats available.

We came in right before noon closing time. Yet the owner welcomed us in and took care of us. The internal space is small but the decoration is very fancy and you can see the owner cook the food right in front of you. Owner is quite chatty. It is quite an experience. The price is a bit expensive but consider the location, atmosphere, the experience and the food, it is well worth the price. Talking about the food, it is absolutely superb! Like an art! We ordered the bento lunch set, initially worried about the amount, but it turns out to be quite a lot! We left very satisfied. The meal is about 2000 yen, about just 20 USD. I would strongly recommend this place to everyone to give it a try if you like Japanese food.

A lovely new restaurant in a popular old-style area. We had a tasty bento box with lots of tiny delicious bites of food. The owners were very kind and enthusiastic and offered to take pictures of our family. The older lady hand-makes the little bags for the bento from kimono, and sells these. The gentleman owner took our addresses and wrote a kind letter to us which was a great reminder of our time in Kyoto.
