Kyoto, Japan｜Chobo-chobo

Best okonomiyaki of my life*, and just a fun experience sitting at the counter and watching the charming and hardworking owners work. So great that we came back for a second night in a row despite an hour’s wait in the light rain outside, it’s just wonderful comfort food. * To be honest, I couldn’t tell. I’ve never had okonomiyaki before. But it was divine and sold me on Hiroshima/Kyoto style with noodles (we did a proper scientific study and tried Osaka-style — the more common one abroad, without noodles — as well, plus easily a dozen non-participating observations of what was prepared for other patrons).

Till now the 2nd day in Kyoto, this is a very good dining experience. Very good host and service. There is a English Menu for foreigners. They even prepared translator to let us know the proper way to serve the food. Food are delicious! Especiallly the okonomiyaki and the tonpei ware! For travellers who is considering this restaurant, just go for it :)

i had an AMAZING experience at Chobo Chobo. The owner and chef was so nice and welcoming during our experience. He recommended items for my friend and I to share and was so nice! The food was amazing and delicious. He used a translator at times to ensure we understood how to eat okonomiyaki. I would definitely go back and eat again. It was such a highlight to our Kyoto adventure!
