Kyoto, Japan｜Yagipan

This is a great little hidden gem of a bakery. During our stay in the area, we visited this shop every morning we could. For foreigners that are new to Japanese bakeries: you come in, grab a tray and tongs, and grab whatever you want. You bring this up to the counter to pay (in cash only). We tried many different baked goods, and our favorite are the little croissants. Try a multitude of things and discover different flavors. It doesn't matter that nothing is in English, because the mystery is half of the fun.

Really delicious, fresh bread. I highly recommend trying the "Coffee Break" bread that is only sold on Saturdays. It's a bit out of the way, but if you live in western Kyoto, give this place a try!

The croissant has a crispy and chewy texture. The moment you bite into it, all you can hear is the sound of your teeth digging into the croissant. Crispy every time you bite into it. This sound... makes me eat a croissant. As many times as you like.
