Nice

When you think of Chinese food, you have the impression that you can't eat a lot of food unless you go with a large group, but here, the portions per plate are small and the price of each dish is reasonable, so even two people can enjoy a variety of things. Even if you can't get a reservation when the restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m., there's still a chance to make a reservation the next time at 7 p.m. The customer service from the hall staff and the efficient work of the kitchen staff are wonderful.

My first trip to Kyoto in 2 years! On the first night, I went to [Itosen] to eat the sweet and sour pork that I had always wanted. I managed to sneak in at 8pm just after the group had left (9pm last order. Reservations recommended). Look! This clear bean paste!! The all-black sweet and sour pork made with black vinegar is the trend right now, so when I saw it on Instagram for the first time, I was immediately captivated. When you try it, it tastes gentle and elegant! Apparently it contains soy sauce, but the sweetness and slight sourness are more pronounced than the saltiness. I want to take out just the bean paste...!! Next was the spring rolls. The crunchiness of enoki mushrooms is irresistible! It is said that it contains pork, but it has plenty of vegetables and is not greasy at all. We ate cold jellyfish, shrimp mayonnaise, stir-fried greens, fried rice (without meat)...almond tofu (with keikachin sake jelly, which was also delicious), and the bill for two people who don't drink was 6,000 yen. The portions are small, so it's easy to eat, and it's reasonably priced. The overall taste is sweet and gentle. Kyoto Chinese food is completely different from the Chinatown style Chinese food you are used to. I loved it! It seems to be an area where there are a lot of entertainers, and the interior is very atmospheric. It was a wonderful shop run by a friendly mother!
