Wakadori is a delightful find just steps away from Roku Kyoto. We savored their Fried Chicken Cutlet and steamed chicken lunches, both of which were sumptuous. Despite our language barrier, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A must-visit for tourists seeking authentic flavors at a reasonable price. We'll definitely be back!

This restaurant specializes in chicken and typical of the Japanese culture, the chicken is one of the best I've had. Plump and juicy chicken with the skin cooked perfectly. While I love fried chicken, the "steamed chicken" was the best dish. They may use steam to initially cook the chicken, but it's finished off by smoking the skin which comes out amazingly well. Definitely worth visiting just for it!

Shozan Wakadori : There is a Japanese cuisine restaurant specialized in chicken dishes called Wakadori meaning young chicken. They prepare very fresh ingredients into a fine meal.
