Kyoto, Japan｜Shun'ai Sasaki

We had the most amazing experience here! This was recommended to us by our Ryukan and so booked a lunchtime slot. We were greeted by the loveliest host and seated. This is one of those meals where you’d never pick the meal to eat yourself but we tried it all and loved every plate! It was delicate and delicious but still filling and the chef was very friendly. We got some sake and picked our own sake cups to drink from. At the end they led us out of the restaurant and bowed us out until we were out of sight. The best food we’ve had in japan and also the best experience!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. The chef used a lot of wagyu beef, so I’d recommend it to meat lovers. The price is extremely reasonable for 9 dishes. The course costs 12500 yen per person. The crab soup is our favourite. The dashi and the crab meat were amazing. We were also asked to choose our own cup for sake :). I don’t quite understand why the restaurant lost its Michelin star last year. We made a reservation the night before the visit and there were still seats available.
