Tensou is our favorite tempura restaurant in Japan. We were there previously six years ago - nothing has changed. The same beautiful aesthetics, fantastic quality food of extraordinary presentation, very professional but also friendly staff. Will certainly come back!

Tensou is a mix of both classic and modern tempura. It’s also a wonderful tempura restaurant. The produce and fish were extraordinarily fresh and flavorful. We had the shakuyaku course which consisted of 10 pieces of tempura (plus choice of final tempura on rice) and various other dishes. There are only 8 seats at this restaurant and one seating per night so reservations required. Same for lunch. What made this place next level was not only the choice ingredients and super light tempura, but the finishes on several dishes: sweet potato with sugar and brandy, giant scallop with ikura and wasabi, gobo with sweet soy sauce, a seaweed sauce for a mild white fish.
