The mochi tasted awesome. It was chewy and sweet. Truly a delight. You get 11 skewers per plate too. Better to order one plate per person because it tasted that great.
Ichimonjiya Wasuke is a family run business for over a millennial in Imamiya shrine area. From a humble beginning, 994 A.D during Heian period, each generation has carried on the legacy. The current generation is a very honest and friendly lady. Her voice is soothing sweet. Each bite of roasted Mochi is more than a snack, it is like biting into part of Japanese history itself. The authenticity, atmosphere, friendliness and honesty of the shop speak right to my heart. Thank you, current owner for carrying on the legacy! I would totally recommend people to visit Ichimonji Wasuke.
Absolute lovely! There’s a reason this shop has been open for this long. The tea is lovely, the snack was lovely, and the view was great~ I’m not a huge fan of green tea, but I think after this I have been converted. Also, the tea pairs so well with the snack. I wish I had bought some to take home. Also, there will be a line-up, but fret not, it moves quick~
