More Comments at Google MapWe stumbled upon this place for lunch after visiting some of the temples nearby. It definitely seemed like a traditional, family owned establishment, with one woman cooking and preparing the food in the front, and a tatami room to dine in, which we loved! We tried the fried okra and yuba meals and all of the food was delicious. The owner was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here.
Great local spot with subtle flavors and healthy menu options.
I stopped by for lunch on the way from Myoshinji to Ninnaji. There are counter seats and table seats when you enter, and you can enter the tatami room from the back of the counter. Since it was the end of February, hina dolls were displayed in the tokonoma of the tatami room. Since it was a weekday and late afternoon, there were few customers and I was able to relax. I ordered a yuba set meal, but it came with miso soup, pickles, salad, aemono, okara, and simmered rice with red rice. It was so delicious that it was carefully prepared one by one. The store staff called out to me, so it seems that I can replace the rice. The coffee I ordered after the meal was also delicious. After the meal, I chatted with the restaurant staff, and in the conversation, I heard that vegetarians and vegans have also come to eat. Recently, it seems that there are times when it is closed, so I think it is better to check in advance if it is a business day.
