More Comments at Google MapOpen only on the weekends, this place is as fantastic as the business hours are scarce. The chef is amazing, and she highlights the countryside of Japan by using a variety of local ingredients throughout the variety of dishes. The multi-dish meal was capped by a decadent chocolate cake and your choice of coffee, tea, or handmade juice-like drink. The cake was so rich that I still don't believe its vegan (yes, it is - and brought to the restaurant daily by a vegan pastry chef in the area). The setting for this incredible meal is a renovated farmhouse with a cute backyard space that has tables and a small apiary. If I am remembering correctly, the full lunch course complete with dessert was around 2000 yen. This is more expensive than I would usually pay for a course lunch in the countryside, but it was well worth the money and I would go again.
Ayabe Tsumugi, a restaurant centered on natural foods It used to be in another place in Ayabe City, but two months ago, I renovated an old private house that used to be a sericulture farm and moved here. Brown rice cooked by Okudo-san tastes better the more you chew it. Set meal 1500 yen with plenty of vegetables at that time. Rice bran pickles also taste completely different from commercial products. The house is still being refurbished and will be turned into accommodation. The shop is still evolving. You can get power from a lively Ayabe woman. It may be difficult to understand that the toilet is away and the parking lot is a little east.
It is located about 10 minutes on foot from R Ayabe Station. A sister store of Fushimi's "Natural food obanzai tsumugi", a renovated old house. It is open only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The owner prepared diligently to open a restaurant in Ayabe, and after three years, his dream came true. It's a stylish space that retains the good old days, and it's very comfortable. The obanzai, which uses plenty of organic vegetables from Kanbayashi's "Harumachi no Uen," is delicious with the freshness of the ingredients. I'm happy that safe and carefully selected seasonings are used, and the taste is gentle. The sense of tableware and cutlery is outstanding! It is open from lunch to night, and lunch is until 14:00. Delicious-looking obanzai are lined up at the counter, and you can also order a single item. There is also a set meal at night, and you can enjoy delicious rice all day long. Draft beer and other alcoholic beverages are also available. All the staff are bright and lively, and you can get well here. Overall very nice! It's worth going out of your way to visit.
